Thursday Thoughts: “Well, I’m no Saint”

Welcome to Thursday Thoughts, a Weekly Offering here at Christ In You, where I post a prompt for your Thinking and Consideration, perhaps even for your prayer time as we head into the weekend from a busy work week. Enjoy. – Barabbas

From my reading this morning

Jesus gave you and “upgrade”

I once had a conversation with my Grandmother on the last time she visited. She has since passed and I later found out that she was a wonderful Christian who attended a Methodist church in her town, after coming to Faith in Christ and being baptized… at the age of 81 !!

I’m not sure if our conversation was before or after that conversion, but it still sticks in my head today. We were all having a chat on life or some such thing and she had said… “well, I’m no Saint”

Remembering this passage from the 1st section of 1st Corinthians chapter 1, I chimed in… of course I did…

“Do you believe in Jesus?” She said at that time that she did. So I pointed her, probably just quoted, the passage above that if she believed in Christ she WAS in fact a Saint, with all those who also had Jesus to be their Saviour and Lord.

“Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s: grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 1:1‭-‬3 KJV

My mom, the “Jack” Catholic at the time, also since passed on, gave me such a look… but said nothing.

We are Saints, sanctified and made Holy and Righteous IN HIM !! Never sell yourself short of your New-Birthright, your Adoption as the Sons and Daughters of God in Christ. Yes… You and I are the Saints of God in Christ Jesus. Amen!!!

Six-Word-Saturday: “There is Sadness in our Home “

Good morning all. I’m Barabbas and this is Six-Word-Saturday, a Weekly Offering here in response to Debbie’s. It’s a writing prompt started and currently being run by Debbie over on Travel with Intent. Why not check her blog out and participate yourself?

Daisey Mae looking up from one of her many naps.

Here is her current. I’m still not sure, seeing some of the other entries, whether we need to stay on the photo given. But here is my humble attempt for this week. 🙂

“Our pets become our family members

Where once was joy and Life, it has been replaced with temporary sadness in the loss of our sweet girl. She’s been struggling lately, diagnosed with cancer in June and progressing quickly. But yesterday morning she went into a seizure suddenly and then a stroke. Now she has passed and our Hearts are heavy without the sound of her breathing, her snoring, her barking at the faintest sound outside, the slightest change in wind direction or the smallest leaf dropping from the willow just beyond her domain.

Doing what she loved best.

She joins a chorus of Dog Angels who have passed before her. BO… Alex, Jake, and Sonny. Wait for us by the river and streams of gold.
