Six-Word-Saturday: “Better to be Thought a Fool”

Good morning all. I’m Barabbas and this is Six-Word-Saturday, a Weekly Offering here in response to Debbie’s. It’s a writing prompt started and currently being run by Debbie over on Travel with Intent. Why not check her blog out and participate yourself?

Only a Fool Proclaims Himself “Wise”

Here is her Current I’m still not sure, seeing some of the other entries, whether we need to stay on the photo given. But here is my humble attempt for this week. As you can see, I’ve “sprinkled in” more than one set of Six-Words. Enjoy 🙂

The proverbs for today the 17th.

V26 speaks to what some people today want to do. Drive down the successful, “eat the rich” to make themselves feel “equal” without having to put in the time, effort and Risk to work for their own success. This is based in jealousy and greed not “equity” as they say…though they may not know or admit it. Stop trying to Steal or use the power of the Government to Steal what others have that you want. It’s still Theft.

“Equity” based Taxation is Legalized Theft

V27 speaks to those with a calm, secure and confident knowledge and competence. Those who are always talking, never able to shut up, always wrangling on and on about themselves or their “expertise” rarely have any. These are what the bible calls “Fools”. A little self awareness would go a long way.

Calm Assurance needs no “Flowery” Words

V28 happens to remind me of my mom. Every 17th of the month when I come to this one, I hear my mom saying… “better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt” 🙂

Don’t be a Fool. Shut-up Sometimes.

Enjoy the Day – Barabbas

Six-Word-Saturday: “What a Glorious Way to Wake-up”

Having a Word from our Sponsor

Here is her Current. I’m still not sure, seeing some of the other entries, whether we need to stay on the photo given. But here is my humble attempt for this week. As you can see, I’ve “sprinkled in” more than one set of Six-Words. Enjoy 🙂

“A Dream of Music and Glory”

I woke up this morning at 441a to the sounds, in my last dream before waking, of myself playing guitar with a little girl who I understood was either my niece or the grandchild of a friend in whose house we were staying the night.

She was very proud of being in the process of learning to play and she wanted to show me what she’d learned. She left the front room, it was darkened morning yet and as I waited I thought to grab my Martin so I could play along.

My Prayer Partner and Worship Leader

For some reason, my fretting fingers didnt want to obey me very well and i struggled to find the patterns but I eventually did. And my “plectrum” or pick was stuck on a large key ring full of keys, and so wasn’t very easy to use as I found myself strumming out a rhythm for… All Heaven Declares…

All Heaven Declares… I Will Proclaim

From the dream, I remember the girl returned with all the others in the home and everyone sat on the floor with me as we sang “All Heaven declares… I will Proclaim…” in the early morning light of the sun just topping the horizon. Oh, the joy of simple worship, in simple communion with the Saints of God as the “Son” of Righteousness Rises in their hearts and mouths as we “Call upon the Name of the Lord”.

What a Glorious Way to Wake-up!!

“Our pets become our family members

Where once was joy and Life, it has been replaced with temporary sadness in the loss of our sweet girl. She’s been struggling lately, diagnosed with cancer in June and progressing quickly. But yesterday morning she went into a seizure suddenly and then a stroke. Now she has passed and our Hearts are heavy without the sound of her breathing, her snoring, her barking at the faintest sound outside, the slightest change in wind direction or the smallest leaf dropping from the willow just beyond her domain.

Doing what she loved best.

She joins a chorus of Dog Angels who have passed before her. BO… Alex, Jake, and Sonny. Wait for us by the river and streams of gold.

“Balloon fest on a short track.”

I guess you could consider the black rubber tires as tiny balloons. But what I was drawn by initially was the multicolored spectacle of the NASCAR racers as they circle. I thought of the Albuquerque Balloon Festival.

Six-Word-Saturday: “Covered or Blocked, all the Same.”

Elizabeth Tower, London, July 2022

Good morning all. I’m Barabbas and this is the first of what will be another Weekly Offering called Six-Word-Saturday. It’s a writing prompt started and currently being run by Debbie over on Travel with Intent. Why not check her blog out and participate yourself?

Here is her current prompt. And here is my humble attempt. 🙂

“Why must they always obscure me?”

If the Tower has an actual name, Elizabeth, why not give her an actual Voice. For instance…

“First it was the seemingly constant cloud cover and fog hiding my magnificence. Then it was the sheeting of the workmen. I get it and I’m grateful for their help. This old girl should always look her best, you know.

But really? A bus with ads on it? Could everyone please just let me be? I should be the Center of everyone’s attention. Ben’s not the only one here. He’s just the loudest.”
